Top 5 Jersey Designs for FIFA World Cup 2018

Russia is hosting 2018 FIFA World Cup along with the mascot ‘Zabivaka,’ whose Russian name translates to “the one who scores.” Finally the best 32 qualified teams are going to give each other a hard time on the FIFA World Cup 2018. The teams have revealed their Home and Away Jerseys for the tournament. Since jerseys are a big deal for FIFA World Cup fans we went through all the designs and brought you the Top 5 Jersey Designs that are exciting enough to draw our attention.

 

Without any further ado let’s go through the countdown.

5. Brazil – Home kit by Nike

Nike has designed another classic yellow Home kit for Brazil. The kit is inspired by the Historical kit worn by Brazil in 1970 World Cup, where they won the tournament. Apart from the vibrant Yellow the design is quite simple. It features the green round rims around the neck which synchronizes with the color of Nike Logo and the number of the player. The shirt has five tessellated stars above the logo in tribute to the five World Cup wins of the Brazilian team.

Fun Fact: Coinciding with Brazil’s win in 1970, the World Cup was broadcasted in color for the first time.

 

4. Germany – Away Kit by Adidas

On number 4 is Germany. Adidas has gone contemporary for title-defending team with the new perspective added to the 1990 Away kit. The front graphic is inspired from the home jersey. It has two color-fabric collar and has national team’s nickname ‘Die Mannschaft’ written on the back.

Fun Fact : Germany won their third World Cup Trophy in 1990, followed by their fourth victory in 2014.

 

3. Australia – Home Kit by Nike

And the number 3 is the elegant Australian kit, designed by Nike. It features traditional Australian colours which are yellow and green. The kit has a dominating yellow with dark green design on the shoulder.

Fun Fact : Australia national team’s nickname is “Socceroos”, derived by joining together ‘Soccer’ and ‘Kangaroo,’ the national symbol of Australia.

 

2.  Nigeria – Home Kit by Nike

Nike has designed a bold jersey for Nigeria. It is a green and white jersey with a feather pattern on the torso while the sleeves have the same pattern in contrasting black and white. It also features an updated federation crest. The Nigerian kit has already hit headlines, being called the hottest soccer kit.

Fun Fact : Nigeria made their World Cup debut in 1994.

 

Special mention: Peru – Home Kit by Umbro

The Peruvian Jersey by Umbro took us by surprise! We’re giving it a special mention for its good looks. The kit is simple and eye catching with a white shirt having a diagonal red stash. It features gold detailing on the either side of the stash and on the shoulder.

The Jersey has been given the tag, ‘the beautiful game’s most beautiful shirt.’

Fun Fact: Peru will play its fifth FIFA World Cup since they last played in 1982.

And the number 1 is French Home Jersey by Nike. It has blended beautifully Blue, White and Red which are the three patriotic colors of the French National Flag. The Kit has blue jersey with creative design on shoulder, white shorts and red socks.
Fun Fact: The button on the French shirt is embossed with, “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité” which is the french national motto.
